July 31 is THE very end of the month. And here I am ahhhhgan squeaking in my entry in the UFO Challenge game.
Just to record, in case some are reading this blog for the first time…. In January 2014 the decision was made to join the Country Threads UFO Game/Challenge. Here is a bit of review:
“Participants make a numbered list of twelve UFO’s. This is all on the ‘honor system’ and you monitor yourself. At the beginning of each month the number is posted on the blog. You match the number with the number on your UFO list. You finish that project, photograph it and send photo to Country Threads before the end of the month. The quilts/and/or projects are posted on Pinterest. Every three months Country Threads will draw a name for a $50 gift certificate. At the end of the year they draw a name for a $100 gift certificate.”

Check out Country Threads’ Pinterest to see all UFOs that — no longer categorized as such!

My entry this month goes along somewhat with the yellow and red summertime theme in the kitchen. The colors are a bit deeper and look nice for a summer change in the dining room.
The pattern is Linked Star Chain and is one of my favorites to teach from Mary Ellen Hopkins’ It’s OK If You Sit On My Quilt training. If you are not familiar with this one, check out the simplicity of the star block A and then connect with block B.
See the scissors in the corner to give measurement perspective. It measures 51″ x 51.”
Mona Levingston did the lovely quilting. The feathers swooping in the border surround the roses and the swirls in the stars sparkle!
The fabrics are Urban Cowgirl by Urban Chiks for Moda. The quilt top was made in the beginning of 2012, so quilt shops will probably not have the line anymore, but you may find some pieces online.
And now for the question from the dining room: on-point or straight? Which do you like?
I think I like straight the best but I LOVE the quilt!
Thanks, Sally, it changed from like to love this little quilt when I added the binding and call it done! 🙂
I love it — so cheerful and yummy!!! I vote for “on point”!!! But I’d vote to keep it – anyway, anyhow!!!! You always make me smile!!!! Thank you for the post!!
Yer welcome – thanks for the adjectives and opinion! 🙂
I vote on- point. It is beautiful Judy. You have accomplished a lot since redoing your space.
“Redoing” the space and being in-limbo for so many months had be like a race horse at the starting gate….:-)
On point, with the perfect flowers!
Poppies are pretty perfect!!! 🙂
Lovely for sure. I vote for On Point. But it looks great either way.
You have an advantage with all your table toppers on your ROUND table. Never thought of that before when I had admired/gushed over all your different decor! 🙂
Looks great, but on-point is my favorite.
I vote on point – very dramatic! Gorgeous quilt!!!
Just Beautiful!!! On point is my favorite
Oh definitely on point. How beautiful! And what a grand challenge every month. You go girl!
