Designed by Emily Herrick, the pattern is named “Color Constellation.” Here is a photo of the design wall at the JSS Compass October 2013 retreat.
Madelyn chose fabrics as the pattern described. I chose a fabric pack of purples and teals. Madelyn thought she would throw-me-off by hanging her’s upside down! She’s tricky that way. Sure, I can use her pattern and sure, she will be three steps ahead of me, but I have to keep my eye on her! (Sorry, no people photo and that’s probably for the best! Retreats are for quilting, not make-up or hair style.)
By the end of retreat, Madelyn had her top all pieced. My rows were together. ready to join my Buttons & Bling blocks in the home studio. You can see the stack of tone on tones and whites that I am gathering for whatever setting I choose for Buttons & Bling. “Sparkling Stars” quilt top is named, completed and ready for a back.
