Dallas Quilt Show, 2014

The Dallas Quilt Show is a Spring Event at Dallas Market Hall.  2014 was the 33rd annual show sponsored by the Quilter’s Guild of Dallas.

The Quilter’s Guild of Dallas sponsored the 33rd annual quilt show in March, 2014 at Dallas Market Hall. There were three days to view a wide variety of quilts as well to shop vendors.

Taking photos of favorite quilts is part of the quilt show experience, but it is necessary to respect the copyright protection to which the quilt makers are entitled. These photos I am sharing are to document the event for family and friends. Also there is a vintage quilt purchase to show.

Friday, Sherry, Peyton, Poppy and I enjoyed the show together!

Karen, Cookie, Sue, Patti, Davene and Sally were at the show Friday too. See Sally’s purple ribbons. That means she is a WINNER!  But we already knew that!

Saturday I returned to the show with Mona, Candice and Peggy. This photo includes the “Red Snails in the Sunset” raffle quilt. The quilt’s red and white design was chosen by the members of the 2014 raffle quilt committee, Kelly Edwards and Sharry Evans. The quilt was designed, pieced and bound by Sharry and Kelly with a new twist on an old familiar block pattern, giving it a fresh, modern look. This 84″ x 101″ quilt was beautifully quilted by Richard Larson of Quilting Design Studio. Richard created an original quilting pattern to compliment the quilt’s theme.

Candice has been wanting to purchase a quilt for a friend’s wedding gift, so we kept our eyes open for the possibility. What fun it was to help her make the decision to purchase this vintage treasure, c 1900. Here are photos of some of the individual LeMoyne Star blocks and then the whole quilt which measures 66″ x 66.”

There is so much to study and observe in each block. Look how perfect the stripes and checks are lined up on the brown fabric.

The black and white fabric is almost “wavy.”

The colors seem to change from block to block, but that is the camera and the lighting.  All are really the same fabric and same colors.

The gallery photos of the 2014 show will eventually be posted, but as for now you can enjoy the 2013 gallery.  All are eye candy for quilters!  Enjoy!
