What a ‘kick-off’ to 2014 JSS!
Looking forward to a new year of Friendship, Fun and
Blessings-beyond quilting that this Bee personifies!
Lynn is the hostess with the mostest in her bright orange colors and welcoming smile. Linda was smiling brightly too. Not that attendance is taken,
but it was so good to have Linda make it this month! 🙂
Dining table, what dining table? Who needs a dining table?
Quilters need a table to gather the ‘gear.’ You NEED this, don’t you!
Pam graciously carted boxes directly to us so we could shop a little here and a little there.
Quilters do have ‘gear’ to tally what a little of this and a little of that really is.
And now on to a show ‘n tell.
Here is a fabulous quilt of Lynn’s. See the colorful and sparkly stars!
And those pieced triangles framing the stars are just as bright and bold.
Mona’s quilting designs and choice of thread colors are exquisite!
And now that you have taken your first glimpse at Lynn’s lovely quilt, take a second look.
Scroll down to the bottom of the photo and you will realize the size!
Yes, jaw-dropping beautiful!
Now for a few people-pictures:
Karen and Barb
Gloria and Suz
(Uncle Ed too!)
Davene and Cindy
Pat called for a ‘consultation’ with Cindy and Sue.
“Hands-on-the-hips” means “cerious consultation!”
Kay, Davene, Pat and Patti
Peggy and Barb
Nancy and Cindy
Yes, Quilters are multitalented!
Sally and Barb
Sue brought show ‘n tell from another JSS ‘sale day.’
Sherry’s and Phyl’s “ufo’s” were taken to the finish line by Sue!
Suz brought her stunning flying geese!
Lynda’s happy quilt is great!
American Jane fabrics are super cute!
There was lots more show’n tell so I will soon be referring you to Cookie’s blog.
It was time for 2014 Block Exchange papers, so I was called away to sort them.
WAIT! Hold on!
Did we not JUST celebrate 2013 Christmas Party giving one another blocks?
And here is MISS-QUICK-TO-FINISH Kay!!!!!
Kay’s 2013 theme was flower pots. She gave us the paper pieced foundation patterns.
Color choices – white on white background with black and white print for flower pots.
Her statements to give us artistic freedom say,
“Please have fun with this block and add a flower(s), birds, bugs, kittens, embroidery, appliqué, beads. Whimsical is good! :-)”
How FUN is this quilt!
Nancy surprised Judy and Cookie with wrapped gifts!
Judy’s 2013 Block Exchange theme was “Buttons & Bling” blocks.
Cookie asked for “Hearts.”
Way to GO, Nanc!!!
Cookie admitted to having more than one heart project going.
She has taken these hearts from blocks to quilt top. Fun!
And to wrap up this post –
Cookie and I snapped shots of each other! Kinda bright!
What fun it is to take a trip with JSS’ers when I’m in freezing Kentucky.
Good work ladies. Keep those machines hummin! Missing my Texas sista’s. Love, Phyl
So great to see everyone!! Thanks Judy!
Hi Sue, so excited to see you with the placemats and a BIG smile. They were around here for way toooooo long, so enjoy!! What fun to “pass it forward” and NOT get to/have to do the finish work. : ) enjoy, blessings, Phyl
